More than 2,500 Hajj candidates underwent medical examinations at the second district regional medical examination center, set up at the youth cultural and sports complex in Ben Arous, Ben Arous Regional Health Director Farhat Zammoul said on Friday.

The same source stated in a statement to the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) news agency that the medical examinations and rigorous health monitoring of Hajj candidates for the 2027 season, who came to the center from all governorates of the second district, are proceeding under good conditions. Candidates are welcomed and provided with the required health services by the medical teams on site, under the periodic monitoring of the quality of these services by the regional authority and the administrations supervising the operation.

The regional center began providing health services to Hajj candidates from the six governorates of the second district (Ben Arous, Zaghouan, Nabeul, Tunis, Ariana and Manouba) at the end of last September, and examinations will continue until the end of the current month.

Reception and waiting areas have been set up within the center, along with a wing comprising several consultation rooms to conduct examinations and provide care by a group of public health doctors, paramedical staff, nurses and agents for the benefit of more than 6,000 candidates expected at the center as part of finalizing the pilgrims' medical files.

A detailed program has also been drawn up, including a precise schedule setting the start and duration of examinations for pilgrims from each governorate of the second district.
